Chief Executive Officer
Mark runs Manta5 with a straight-shooting open leadership style, with his signature operational mode of passion, pace and pragmatism to get things done. He has 20+ years’ experience in taking product development companies global, with early career paths in electronic design, manufacturing, product marketing and commercial management.
Mark joined the company in 2019, taking over as CEO in April 2020. He has successfully transitioned the company from its early stage brand building and R&D start-up phase, into a successful trading international growth company.
Chief Operating Officer
Conan is an expert programme and project manager, with a solid background in product development and engineering. He has a calming, methodical, detail-oriented leadership style with a great people focus.
Conan’s accomplishments to date have included the conversion of a functional prototype hydrofoiler into a bike that has been documented and adapted for mass production, with the key risk elements reduced.
Head of Sales & Marketing
Ray has a long and accomplished career in international business development, spending his formative years living and working in Europe and the US. More recently he has experience in business consulting and has developed deep networks into international economic development agencies that have been key in opening doors for Manta5.
Since joining Manta5 he has led the success in signing up distributors and converting our presales campaign into $2M+ in the bank and building a $20M+ sales pipeline.
Head of Product Development
Ian has recently returned to New Zealand after 13 years abroad. He brings extensive product development experience: initially working within the High Performance automotive sector.
Ian has also explored the motorcycle, outboard / recreational product worlds, as well as reciprocating Gas Engines for power generation.

Founding Director & Investor
Guy is an avid cyclist, keen water sports enthusiast, and self-proclaimed dreamer. Co-founder of Torpedo7 with his son Luke, an online action sports retailer. Torpedo7 Group grew to employ more than 300 people, dispatching 2M+ orders annually before being fully acquired by The Warehouse Group in 2016. Guy dreamed up the idea of replicating cycling on water, and founded Manta5 to bring his dream to reality.
Phil is a specialist in business services for high growth companies. He has over thirty years experience working with small and mid-sized companies in different industries and sectors and has been an owner, manager, director and investor in many local and international businesses. He was the founding Chairman of Xero, one of NZ’s most successful technology companies of recent times, and currently Chairs NZX-listed Plexure Group Limited, ASX-listed Straker Translation Limited, Loyalty New Zealand Limited (Flybuys) and Touchpoint Group Limited.
Passionate about building and leading teams in fast-growing technology businesses, Gavin was CEO of Invenco in 2015-2019 and during his time the company received numerous accolades, including NZ Hi-Tech Company of the Year. Previous to Invenco, Gavin was Chairman of Critchlow, CEO of Nextspace and General Manager of SmartCo. Gavin has a depth of technical product development and manufacturing knowledge, as well as business leadership and sales management experience. In 2020 Gavin was appointed as Group CEO of the IceHouse.
Phil has a background in e-commerce, telecommunications, consulting and corporate management. He spent eight years consulting in Asia, Europe, the UK, Australia and South Africa before returning to NZ. Phil is currently involved in investment across private equity, early stage, industry property and investment markets.
